Each year, Texas women come together as part of a movement to empower each other, grow ambitions and reach goals at the Texas Conference for Women. At this year’s event – its 16th annual – taking place this week in Austin, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan is a proud sponsor of the conference’s Community Connection Pavilion.
UnitedHealthcare’s Community Connection Pavilion will offer ways for conference attendees to donate, create and participate in initiatives that change the lives of families in need. Under the pavilion, there will be a hands-on activity for volunteers to make blankets for Meals on Wheels in Austin and an opportunity to sign up for The Walk to End Alzheimer’s in their hometowns – another event which UHC actively supports as its first-ever statewide sponsor.
In addition to sponsoring the Community Connection Pavilion, two of UnitedHealthcare’s senior leaders will be participating in the conferences sessions. Yasmine Winkler, our Community & State CEO for the central region and chief consumer officer with UnitedHealthcare, will be part of the day’s luncheon keynote session with many of the conference’s top guests, which include Robin Roberts, ABC’s “Good Morning America” co-anchor and cancer survivor, Oscar-winning actress and advocate for wage equality Patricia Arquette, designer and urban planner Candy Chang and Life is Good CEO Bert Jacobs.
Dr. Dawn Bazarko, the Founder and Senior Vice President of Moment Health, an innovative new UnitedHealth Group business focused on bringing mindfulness solutions to the workplace, to health care workers and into health care delivery to improve the care experience, will be taking the stage with other health experts in a session about optimizing stress to improve overall wellbeing.
UnitedHealthcare has been at the forefront of women’s health with its many initiatives throughout Texas and the United States, including its approach to women’s preventative care services.
Bringing together inspirational individuals and organizations to highlight women’s issues is the goal, and we’re proud to help be part of that conversation.
