UnitedHealthcare of North Texas volunteers recently joined the Junior League of Dallas at the Cedar Springs Boys & Girls Club to cook alongside Dallas-area youth as part of its Kids in the Kitchen cooking day.

The volunteers taught students age-appropriate recipes, participated in fun exercise activities and created take-home items including nutrition and fitness tips for the whole family.

Kids in the Kitchen—created by Junior League of Dallas in 2006 and offered locally in partnership with UnitedHealthcare—is a nationally recognized health education program that empowers youth to learn healthy meal preparation while also educating them and their parents about nutrition and healthy food choices. During the eight-week interactive program, Junior League of Dallas volunteers work with nonprofit agencies to engage youth in kindergarten through 5th grade.

For more information or to apply as a 2017 participating agency, visit the Junior League of Dallas website.
