UnitedHealthcare is Paying Some Texas Members to Walk

KXAN-TV (NBC, Austin) recently highlighted how UnitedHealthcare Motion has positively impacted an Austin company’s health.

UnitedHealthcare Motion uses wearable technology and cash incentives to pay for out-of-pocket medical expenses to encourage members to take charge of their health.

Participating employees can earn up to $3 per day, or $1095 per year, by meeting walking goals tracking frequency, intensity and total steps taken. Employers can obtain premium savings based on program participants’ combined results.

Employees receive the custom-designed wearable device at no additional charge.  

Originally available only to small businesses, UnitedHealthcare recently began offering Motion to companies of all sizes across Texas due to its success.
