New Children’s Joke Books Help Fund Child Medical Grants for Texas Families in Need

UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF) has collected family-friendly jokes for three new books to be released in time for National Literacy Month, which is recognized in September.

The three joke books ― Cool Jokes for Summer; Sweets, Treats & Eats; and Holidays, Celebrations & Birthday Jokes — each include more than 300 jokes submitted by kids from across the U.S. These books not only provide smiles and laughter, but can also help encourage early reading among children. Books are available on Amazon for $5.99 each.

Proceeds from the books will be used to fund child medical grants. These grants are awarded to help families pay for health services and equipment not covered or not fully covered by their commercial insurance.

Last year, Texas children and their families received 229 grants from UHCCF valued at more than $600,000. Since 2013, UHCCF has awarded around 14,000 grants valued at more than $37 million to children and their families across the U.S., and aims to award its 20,000th grant by Jan. 1, 2020.

UHCCF is currently accepting child medical grant applications at www.uhccf.org.
